TASK
By the end of the WebQuest, you will have completed an ample amount of research describing the issue of the impact of HoneyBees dying off with your group members.
Remember that you and your group members will either be taking on the role of (1) a Beekeeper or (2) an investigator. These roles are both affected by Honeybees dying off. It will be your job to determine why the Honeybees are dying off and the impact on the environment.
Once you are in your group of four, together you will do basic research on facts about Honeybees and answering the question, what is a beekeeper? Once you have a basic understanding of what a Honeybee is then split your group into two Beekeepers and two investigators. Now you will move into more narrow research depending on your role. (Beekeepers- researching impact on the environment) ( Investigators- researching why Honeybees are dying).
During research, the class will be taking a field trip to either the local forest preserve where we will be talking to a forest preserve leader about this pressing issue or we will be going to a local Honeybee farm to talk to beekeepers about the first-hand effects of Honeybees dying. For both of these trips, you will be expected to take notes and have questions ready.
Finally, your group will be creating a power point presentation and a poster of what you have learned through taking on the roles of an investigator and beekeeper while researching the effects of Honeybees dying off.
